Charles Zambrano
Charles Zambrano (b. Guayaquil, Ecuador | he/him/they) is a multifaceted Latinx makeup artist. Zambrano has created and worked across different creative industries. After working 10 years in the commercial Computer Art profession as a 3D artist and Creative Director, Zambrano transitioned to his true craft: makeup, body art and special FX makeup.
In 2018, he joined the IATSE Local 798, and has worked on numerous films, television shows and clients, such as: Birchbox, Bloomingdale's, Frieze, GLAAD, T-Mobile, YouTube and more. Television and film projects include: Lion King on Broadway, Annie LIVE! (NBC), POSE (FX), The Politician (Netflix), Video Music Awards (MTV), and many more.
After 8 years and counting in the makeup and beauty industry, Zambrano was recognized with two nominations and a recipient of the (2020-2021) Primetime Emmy Creative Arts Award and a MUAHS Guild Award for POSE (FX).
While he continues to work in the tv/film industry, he also volunteers and collaborates with community-based arts organizations to engage and educate folks who are interested in the arts and makeup. Zambrano is based in the Bronx, NYC and received his BFA at the School of Visual Arts.
